Our Program
Our goal is to have a residence that will house 20 to 30 girls/women and their children for as long as is needed, on an individual basis.
The residential, educational, discipleship program will be "Christ centered" and designed to help girls and women deal with issues of abuse, depression, unplanned pregnancies, self-harm, addictions, eating disorders, and anything else that may be keeping them from living a productive life.
We will encourage our residents with children to bring their children to live on site with them at the proper time in their recovery process to transition into the "real life" daily routine of their future. We believe it is important and necessary for the whole family to be involved in the recovery process. The children will have fears and needs that will need to be addressed as part of the healing process.
We are hoping to build a home(Lord willing) with a retreat feel; a quiet place to come, get away from the world, reflect and focus on getting well.
Before the residential facility is built we are currently raising the funds needed to open an office to minister to girls/women and their children in an "out-patient" format.
Our program at Shepherd House Ministries will focus on Counseling, education, food and fitness, worship, Bible reading/study, work detail, real life, activities, graduation and mentor-ship.
We will also offer job-shadow opportunities, for our residents/clients, in a variety of different professions. Along with our job-shadow program, we will offer internship opportunities for graduates and encouraging them to return as leaders and mentors.
As Shepherd House Ministries was designed to focus on mentoring girls and women, we currently have men being trained in the Biblical/Nouthetic Counseling in order to reach out to the men involved in the lives of our female residents/clients.
It is our goal to serve the whole family, promoting reconciliation and commitment.
